Bookkeeping - from £30.00 per hour

Bookkeeping is the recording, on a day-to-day basis of the financial transactions and information pertaining to a business. It is essential to ensure that records of these individual financial transactions are correct, up-to-date and comprehensive.

Accuracy is therefore vital to the process. We work for a wide spectrum of clients including Sole traders, Partnerships and Limited companies. We offer a complete bookkeeping service that your business can rely on.

We have a very flexible approach to meeting our client’s requirements and can either work onsite at your premises or at our office. We are fully trained, highly experienced and have many years of knowledge dealing with businesses of all shapes and sizes. We make it our business to understand your business giving you real peace of mind.

Accounts Preparation

We know that red tape is one of the most bothersome aspects of being in business. We deal with HMRC and Companies House all day, every day, so we understand your pain.

We deal with all aspects of accounts preparation for Individuals, Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies. We understand that the needs of the family business will differ from those of our SME clients. We ensure annual accounts and tax compliance is appropriate to the size of your business and is handled in the most efficient and cost-effective way.

Don’t get bewildered wondering about what to send, when and to whom. Don’t worry about whether the figures you’re submitting ‘look right to the taxman’.

Self Assessment Tax Return - from £175.00

We are currently completing self-assessments for the current tax year. The deadline for your online tax return and for payment of tax is normally due by January 31st.

Income tax is normally deducted automatically from a person’s wages, pensions and savings. Self-assessment is the system used by HMRC to collect tax from businesses and individuals with other means of income, via an online or paper tax return.

We can accurately prepare and file your HMRC self-assessment tax return. You’ll benefit from our wealth of accounting experience and expertise, helping you pay the right amount of tax. No matter how complex or simple your tax affairs, we’ll advise and help you so that you meet your HMRC self-assessment tax deadlines. This will help avoid any unnecessary mistakes and penalties.

Corporation Tax Return

Corporation Tax is a tax payable on the taxable profits of Limited Companies (either private or PLC) and other organisations including Clubs, Societies, Associations and other unincorporated bodies. If your company or organisation is based in the UK you will have to pay Corporation Tax on your worldwide profits, and you will need an accountant for your Corporation Tax to advise and take care of your Corporation Tax returns.

As with all taxes, there are deadlines for submission of the tax returns and payment of outstanding tax. Miss these and you could be liable for a fine from HM Revenue and Customs. Corporation Tax may seem like a minefield to any SME business owner but to us, Corporation Tax is familiar territory.

We will make sure that your Corporation Tax returns are filed and tax paid on time – that’s the hard part taken care of. Our accountants will also take a close look at your business and will be able to advise and assist with all of your companies accounting and tax needs.

VAT

We will work closely with you to provide timely and cost-effective solutions to your problems, along with advice on VAT MTD, VAT registration, VAT accounting, VAT appeals, enquiries and disputes.

VAT is a complex area, so it is impractical for most business owners to maintain high-quality VAT expertise internally and it can deflect focus from your core business. Here at Eight Nine Ten, we offer a low-cost effective way for you to outsource VAT compliance services. We will provide the most up to date VAT advice, and will also give you the benefit of our extensive experience solving all manner of VAT issues.

Business Start-up

We specialise in providing accountancy services to the Self-employed, Freelancers, Sole Traders and Small to Medium-sized Limited Companies.

Starting a business is exciting! The best way to start a new company is by putting a business plan together. This will detail your initial financial projections, the structure of your company as well as the administrative and procedures jobs that you’ll need to adhere to.

The implications on the tax you pay will vary depending upon the type of business you set up. If you decide to set up as a Sole Trader your taxes will be simpler than if you go Limited. However, as being Limited is one of the most tax efficient ways possible and offers tax planning opportunities being a Sole Trader cannot. You need to think about what is best for you. We can help you make the right decision and help with your business finances.

You’ll also need to think about whether you want to register for VAT as well as whether you want to set up PAYE. Here at Eight Nine Ten we can help you decide the best way to set up your accounts and administration.

Payroll

Running payroll services for a business is no longer just an administrative function.

It requires knowledge of HMRC’s RTI (Real Time Information) software as well as an understanding of the requirements of the Working Time Directive and all other employment law obligations now placed on a business.

The cost of falling foul of these laws and obligations can be costly to your business, not only in terms of potential penalties that could be levied on you, but also the time that will be taken up in dealing with an enquiry from any number of different Government bodies.

Our professional payroll services enable you to keep up to date with the ever-changing regulations and legislation that affect the operation of your payroll function.

We understand that managing this can be a time consuming and costly operation and having an outsourced payroll service will allow you more time to concentrate on the growth of your business safe in the knowledge that you are fully compliant with HMRC requirements.
